Service Opportunity

For those of you that love to serve and help out, please read on!!

One of my co-workers, Tammi, has put together a couple of fundraisers for her niece, Julie, who is in great need.

Julie is in her early 30's with a three year old and an eight month old. Last month she was diagnosed with breast and ovarian cancer which has metastasized (spread) to her spine. She is undergoing chemo and radiation therapy every week to try to win the battle. Her insurance is pretty bad and she has a $10,000 deductible before her insurance kicks in.

To help with the medical bills, Tammi is selling hand crafted greeting cards and gift tags. They are $1.50 for a card and $1.00 for tags. If you would like to buy some cards just let me know how many and for what occasions. I will pick them up at work and you can pay me back.

The other fundraiser is a raffle on Aug. 29th in Riverton. Some items in the raffle include:

Quilts
A Crocheted Blessing Gown
Professional Yard Design for up to 1/3 Acre
Oil Painting
Signed Photos of U of U Athletes
Football Signed by Entire 08-09 U of U Football Team
Gift Certificates to Many Stores and Resturants
Framed Scenic Photography Print

This is what Tammi wrote about the tickets. "To get in on the Raffle (which is illegal in Utah as it is gambling) please feel free to buy a paperclip from me for $1.00 and I'll give you a ticket (no limit to the number you can purchase), and you do not need to be present to win. You will need to write your name and a phone # on the ticket I keep so I can contact you if you win."

So if you are interested in helping out, just tell me how many tickets you want. I will put your name and number on them. If you cannot attend the raffle and you win something, Tammie can bring it to work and I will pick it up for you. Or if you have an item or service that you would like to donate for the raffle, let me know and I'll get it all set up.

Any help will surely be appreciated. This is a great opportunity to help out somebody who is truly in need. I know that this means so much to Tammi and Julie's family!!
